Peter is a talented man with a passion for his work and photography. He owns the successful Angkor Pearl Hotel located in the heart of Siem Reap, Cambodia, helps with his parents’ hotel nearby AND he is a great all around photographer.
I had the pleasure of meeting Peter during my trip to Cambodia with A Cambodia Journey team. He was so generous and helpful to care for our whole team while we stayed at his parents’ hotel, going far beyond typical hotel hospitality. Not only did he ensure we had the necessary resources to help ourselves, he also made sure we explored everything we wanted and even accompanied us to see the beautiful Angkor Wat complex, wonderfully hilarious Phare Circus Show and beautiful Apsara dinner and show. All the while, he graciously took pictures of our team while we enjoyed ourselves. So not only did we received exceptional customer service, we also gained a friend and have beautifully captured memories of a major part of our trip.
Beautiful photography needs a suitable logo. We talked about developing his logo once I returned to the states and I’m glad to say that we followed through.
Peter’s photography style is young and vibrant. A quick glance at his portfolio, you will see the fresh and well-rounded quality of his work.
The design objective for this logo was to convey his creativity, professionalism, uniqueness in capturing meaningful memories.
We worked through several drafts before deciding on the final logo. To communicate the fresh and strong personality in Peter’s photographs, I sought after bold shapes and clean lines contrasted with subtle softness.
Also, it would need to look good alone on a business card or the header of a site, as well as have enough weight to anchor a photograph in terms of watermarking. To this end, a strong font-based design was a great choice.
