It’s been so long since my last art-related update. Actually it’s been a long time since I posted at all! Today I bring updates on life and a much anticipated project.
First let’s talk life: it’s been cray cray. We hit the ground running upon arriving in Columbia, SC with finding a place to live and finding me a job. I didn’t think I could even get a job knowing we’d be here for only a few months. But sure enough, I found one within the second week of arrival – and our household goods had just arrived shortly before. You know what that means? Unpacking took forever and a day. We would unpack one box a day and only look for things we needed. Even today, we are still not finished unpacking and we already have orders for another move… and the movers are coming on Monday. That’s 2 days from now!
The hubby and I have got work to do before our next road trip across the country! And this time, it’s really across the country from South Carolina to Alaska. I am sooooo excited to embark on new adventures in the Last Frontier but man am I not looking forward to the cold. I love hot weather so I will miss it here. But I do enjoy some cold weather things like sledding and… crisp fresh air. I guess I’ll learn to ice fish, build igloos (is that a stretch?) and other fun wintery type things.
As for art-related news, all this time I had a project in the works. I didn’t have much time to work on it with the new job, but I have been working on it like a mad woman ever since my last day at work. I hoped to finish today… and I did! I am so excited to show it to Sabrina and her hubby. I won’t sign it until I get their approval and no changes are necessary.
That’s all I will say for now! Once the details are finalized and I ship the painting, I will update y’all with all the fun details of this project! Until then, enjoy this picture of my working studio in the middle of this move!
