You are an artist if you make art.

With a bit curiosity and the right guidance, anyone can make art. That's where I come in. Let me help you unlock your creative potential!

What You Need to Know

What will my paint party look like?

An instructor will bring all art materials and guide your group to paint the same design within 2 hours.

They will arrive 30-45 minutes before the scheduled start time to set up art materials.

It will be your responsibility to prepare the space and set up tables and seating for your guests. Make sure everyone has plenty of elbow room as we will be handling a bunch of items. Don't forget a small task table for the instructor at a spot where everyone can see the demo.

Your guests should arrive no later than 15 minutes before start time to get situated so we can start promptly.

Throughout the session, the instructor will visit with everyone in between demo breaks. Makara has 10+ years of experience in painting and teaching, and will be able to give help that is considerate to each individual's needs.

At the end, we will take pictures and celebrate your progress!

We gather our supplies and depart at the end of the session.

How do I reserve an event?

When you have finished reading all that you need to know, you can fill out the request form at the bottom of this page.

We will review your request within 3-5 business days and follow up with confirmation of your preferred date. If both your first and second choice dates are not available, we will do our best to coordinate another day.

Once a date is approved, we will send an invoice for the non-refundable deposit. We will hold your date pending deposit confirmation for up to 5 days.

Your event is not confirmed until the deposit has been paid in full.

What is the cost to set up an event?

A non-refundable deposit to reserve a paint party is $225 for up to 5 painters.

You may add more guests later at $45 per painter if we are notified within 48 hours before the event.

What about the location for my private event?

Location: you must coordinate a space for your event, and ensure there are enough tables and seating for your guests and also the instructor.

  • Plan to reserve your venue to include 1 hour before and 1 hour after your event for setup and cleanup.
  • Also ensure that there is a functioning sink and source of water for painting and cleanup.
  • We are only responsible for the art supplies and instruction.

Can we have the paint part at my house?

Yes, of course! Please ensure there are enough tables and seating for your guests and also the instructor.

  • Plan to have your home ready to include 1 hour before and 1 hour after your event for setup and cleanup.
  • Also ensure that there is a functioning sink and source of water for painting and cleanup.
  • We are only responsible for the art supplies and instruction.

What art materials will you bring?

We will bring everything you need to complete the painting project.

  • Canvas (you paint on this and it's yours)
  • Easel
  • Paint brushes
  • Cups for paint water
  • Acrylic paints
  • Palette for paints
  • Paper towels
  • Aprons
  • Other materials as needed

Is there a traveling fee?

There is no traveling fee separately if the event location is within the Louisville Metro area. This is considered in the overall price of the experience to help you and your guests with simple cost-sharing.

If the event will be outside of the Louisville, that will be calculated on a case-by-case basis.

I am not an artist at all. Will I be able to do this?

No art talent, or experience in art is necessary to enjoy a paint party!

Rest assured that Makara has 10+ years of experience in teaching beginners and can help guide you from start to finish. In between demonstration sessions, Makara will visit with each painter to check in and assist individuals.

What do I and my guests need to bring?

Just yourselves! If you want to liven up your party, we encourage you to prepare music, snacks and drinks for the party as long as your venue allows it.

Are food and drinks included?

We are responsible for art materials and instruction only. Food and drinks will be coordinated by you and your venue.

When do my guests need to arrive?

Your guests should arrive at least 15 minutes before we are scheduled to start.

Do you host fundraisers?

We sure can, but on a case by case basis. If you'd like to set up a fundraiser event, please get in touch to schedule a meeting so we can discuss your specific needs.

What is the cancellation/rescheduling policy?

Due to the nature of this service, all sales are final.

Reschedules: must be notified no less than 48 hours before the event to receive studio credit for future use in the online shop.

Cancellations: must be notified no less than 72 hours before the event to receive studio credit for future use in the online shop.

If you do not cancel or reschedule within the indicated time, you will forfeit the deposit credits.

  • No refunds, credits or reschedules for no shows - no exceptions.

Yes, you will see improvement in your technical ability with each class. But don't forget to enjoy the process.
